Background:

Dengue is caused by Dengue virus (Dengue virus; DENV), belonging to flaviviruses of the family flaviviridae. There are three types of virus particles, including dumbbell-shaped 700nm×(20-40) nm, rod-shaped (175-200) nm×(42-46) nm, spherical particles 20-50nm in diameter, and 5-10nm protrusions on the surface. There are four serotypes of viruses, consisting of an envelope and a capsid.
