It is typically acquired in early childhood and can persist for life without treatment. H. pylori is transmitted via fecal-oral, gastric-oral, oral-oral, or sexual routes, with a higher prevalence in developing countries and lower socioeconomic status.

The monoclonal antibody has a calculated MW of 160 kDa.
