Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus Test Kit (RT-PCR)
Product Feature:
1.Used for the qualitative identification and molecular epidemiological investigation of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV).
2.Enables rapid detection of PEDV in samples with good specificity and sensitivity.
3.Utilizes a one-tube RT-PCR kit, reducing operational steps and minimizing handling errors.
Product Description:
Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED), caused by Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV), is an acute, highly contagious enteric infectious disease that poses significant risks to the swine industry. Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial for effective control and prevention. Traditional diagnostic methods for PEDV include virus isolation, immunofluorescence antibody assays, immune electron microscopy, and ELISA. However, these methods can be cumbersome, time-consuming, and lack strong specificity. Therefore, developing a rapid and highly sensitive diagnostic method is essential for combating PEDV infections.
PEDV belongs to the family Coronaviridae and the genus Coronavirus, with its genome consisting of a single-stranded positive-sense RNA. The membrane protein (M) gene of PEDV is highly conserved. This study designs specific detection primers based on the M gene of PEDV, providing a rapid and sensitive diagnostic method. Using RT-PCR technology, this method detects PEDV in fecal or intestinal tissue samples from suspected infected piglets.
Application:
The Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus RT-PCR Kit is used for the rapid and sensitive detection of Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) RNA in fecal or intestinal tissue samples from pigs, facilitating early and accurate diagnosis of PEDV infections through real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology.
